Scopa Game Rules
A classic Italian card game for 2 to 6 players. Uses a 40-card deck.
Objective
Be the first to reach the target score (default 11) with at least a 2-point lead.
Game Setup
- Modes: Scopa (Matching) or Escoba (Sum 15).
- Teams: 2vs2 (4 players) or 2vs2vs2 (6 players).
Game Modes
1. Scopa Mode (Matching)
- Single Match: Play a card matching one on the table (e.g., 7 takes 7). Priority rule applies.
- Sum Match: If no single match, play a card to take cards summing up to its value (e.g., 7 takes 3+4).
2. Escoba Mode (Sum 15)
Play a card so that (Your Card + Table Cards) = 15. Example: Play 6 to take 5+4.
Gameplay Mechanics
- 3 cards dealt per player, 4 on table.
- Capture: Play a card to take matching cards.
- Discard: If you can’t capture, leave card on table.
- Scopa! If you clear the table, you get 1 point immediately.
Scoring (End of Round)
- Cards: Most cards (>20) = 1 point.
- Diamonds: Most diamonds (>5) = 1 point.
- Sevens: Most sevens = 1 point.
- 7 of Diamonds: Having the Sette Bello = 1 point.
